KEBBELL PROVIDES FOOD FOR SPORT

Monday 21st June 2010

Over 2,500 youngsters were hungry for success in more than one way last weekend when house builder Kebbell Homes kicked off the 2010 Petersfield Town Juniors six-a-side football tournament by sponsoring the catering marquee.

Watford-based Kebbell, which has built homes of quality and comfort in Petersfield since the 1970s, donated £500 to the event which was held at the playing fields at Penns Place and had over 6,000 visitors over the course of the weekend.

The tournament, which is in its 31st year, saw over 250 boys and girls teams, aged from seven to 16 years old, travel from across the region to take part in six-a-side games.

Ian Essai, Chairman of Petersfield Town Juniors Football Club, commented, “The annual six-a-side tournament is recognised as one of the longest standing and well attended events in the regional sporting calendar. In the past three years the tournament has grown to accommodate over 250 teams of all ages and all the children and their families always have a great time. I’d like to offer my sincere thanks to Kebbell Homes for its support through its sponsorship.”

Gin Roaf, Sales and Marketing Director at Kebbell Homes said, “We were delighted to sponsor the Petersfield Town Juniors football tournament which has been taking place for around the same number of years as we have been building homes in the town. Over this time we have had the pleasure of supporting a number of different local groups as we strongly believe it is important to get involved within the communities in which we are active.”

The Kebbell family links with Petersfield first began in the 1930s. In the 1970s Herne Farm was conceived and since then some 800 homes have been built over the last three decades along the sides of Tilmore Brook, from Pulens Lane to Tor Way, contributing positively to the character of the whole community and forming an attractive and mature environment.
