Coach House Court Part-Exchange Proves Perfect for Priors

Friday 28th June 2010

A retired couple from Wetherby who were looking to downsize have found their perfect apartment at Coach House Court, from Kebbell Homes.

Originally from Goole and Barnsley respectively, both Bill and Mary Prior moved to Wetherby 29 years ago having spent much of their professional lives away from Yorkshire. Having recently lived in a four-bedroom detached house in the nearby village of Kirk Deighton, they took the decision to make the short journey and downsize to a two-bedroom, ground floor apartment at Coach House Court, Wetherby.

This exceptional development of eighteen spacious one- and two- bedroom apartments is located on Deighton Road and has helped to revive the site of a former garage, creating an attractive new building using local stone in its design.

Mary comments, “Our house in Kirk Deighton had a lovely garden and far reaching countryside views however it was becoming too much to look after. We both watched Coach House Court being built, with Bill particularly impressed by the quality of the build, so made arrangements to have a look round before moving here in March.”

“Our new apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which are very useful for when family come to stay with us. The quality of fittings is also excellent and although this isn’t the first time we’ve moved into a new build home, the fact that everything is new removes any need for DIY.”

On the location of the development and Wetherby itself, Bill says, “We regularly head into Wetherby town centre but even if we didn’t have the car, it’s within easy walking distance of our new home. It is a very friendly town which has all the amenities you could possibly need. In addition to this, both Harrogate and Leeds are just a short drive whilst the countryside is also just a matter of minutes away.”

The Priors were able to use Kebbell Homes’ ‘Part-Exchange Scheme with a Difference’ to purchase their new apartment. Under the terms of this unique initiative aimed particularly at those wishing to downsize, homebuyers can move to a stylish apartment at Coach House Court with Kebbell Homes buying their large, family home and give them the change when it’s sold.

“The staff at Kebbell have been wonderful to deal with,” continues Mary, “and we can’t praise them highly enough for all their hard work. Our part-exchange deal took away the worry about having to sell our property and allowed us to concentrate on moving to our new home.”

Linda Tillisch, Northern Sales Manager for Kebbell Homes, comments, “We are delighted to hear that Mr and Mrs Prior have settled well into their new home at Coach House Court. Of all the schemes to provide assistance to our purchasers the part-exchange has, over the years, consistently proved to the favourite and we are delighted to offer this unique variation to help homebuyers downsize. We invite potential buyers to come and discuss any concerns with us directly and we will try to assist in whatever way we can.”

The homes at Coach House Court offer an exceptional standard of living with secure gated entrance, private allocated parking, a lift to all floors and a superior interior specification. This includes superb kitchens which incorporate a range of integrated appliances and Jasper Morrison sanitary ware in the bathrooms with chrome taps and fitments. Kebbell Homes has been able to retain many of the mature trees and hedges which provide a lovely mature backdrop for the beautifully landscaped communal gardens.

Coach House Court is situated in the beautiful historic market town of Wetherby, a regular winner of “Britain in Bloom” which has the added attraction of the picturesque River Wharfe winding through its centre. The town offers a broad range of shops, restaurants and pubs alongside a wide variety of entertainment such as the Wetherby Film Theatre, Wetherby Golf Course and the famous Wetherby Racecourse. Adjacent to the A1(M), the town is less than 15 miles away from the cities of Leeds and York plus the spa town of Harrogate.
